It's That Time Again, Barracudas!!

We are delighted to prepare to kick off the 2018 swim season! Lots of information is listed below, so please read carefully.

We are pleased to announce our new website. Please visit http://www.kwprbarracudas.swimtopia.com/ and bookmark us! SAIL has required all swim teams to use the Swimtopia software, which has many great features like registration, volunteer sign ups for swim meets, and an apparel store where you can purchase swimsuits. We hope to add other necessary items like caps and goggles to the apparel store soon.

Registration this year is online and we are able to take web payments for swim fees. You may click on Login in the top right corner to set up your account. There is also a Swimtopia mobile app which makes it easier to volunteer and request events for your swimmer at each meet and receive team news. Once you have registered your swimmer, get the app!

We will be switching our team suit to a Dolphin Ocean Team suit this year. These will be purchased through Friends Unlimited SwimShop. They will be $24.76 for female suits and $20.79 for the male Jammer. They will be sending us a set of suits for sizing purposes. All suits ordered before 4/22 will receive free shipping and will arrive by the first swim meet on May 31. The link on the website should be active by the end of the week. Watch for an update.

On that note, Registration is OPEN! Please set up your account and sign up your swimmers! Swimmers should be registered no later than May 1.

We will have a Parent's Meeting on Saturday, April 14 from 11 - 12 to answer any questions, give any additional information you many need and have swim suits to try on for sizing purposes. It will be held at Planter's Row Clubhouse. Should you not be able to make it to Planter's Row, contact Sally to come by her house and try on suits.

It has been necessary to increase this year's registration fee by $10 to cover the additional cost of the Swimtopia software. This year's registration fee is $110 and includes a T-shirt and swim cap (and very minimal fundraising.) If you choose NOT to pay online, please make your check out to KWPR Swim Team.
Our first practice will be on Monday, May 14 at Knollwood Pool from 4:30 - 5:30 pm. This will be a land practice to begin conditioning. Please be sure your swimmer has running shoes for practice. Practice from May 14 to June 6 will be 4:30 - 5:30 Monday through Friday. June 7 is our first home swim meet and we will start Friday Fun Swim on June 8th. Practice times will remain the same as last year once school is out, which are listed below:
Planter’s Row Pool:
M, T, and W 8:30-9:30 am
Knollwood Pool:

Three home swim meets are scheduled for this year. They are June 7, June 14, and June 28. Divisionals will be held on July 7 at Del Norte pool.
Lastly, the training schedule is also posted on our new website under Training. The first training sessions are scheduled for the beginning of May. Let's get our training done as soon as possible. SAIL will provide volunteer tags for all of those that are certified prior to our first meet May 31. All parents must be certified in timing. We ask that you also get certified in runner and records & ribbons if possible. This year, we are in need of more Stroke and Turn Judges, a new Starter, Referees, and help in Clerk of Course area. As an added incentive for those never before certified in these positions, once you attend training and are certified in these areas, we will return $20.00 of swim fees paid for one swimmer to you. (Should both parents become certified in these areas, we will return this fee for up to 2 swimmers.) Contact the SAIL reps for more information.
Please let us know if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you soon!
