For more than four decades, Knollwood Heights has competed in the Swim Association Invitational League (SAIL). Then in 2011, Planter's Row joined forces with Knollwood to create the KWPR Barracudas. Combined, these two Mauldin communities have nearly 800 homes.
Over the years our teams have claimed several divisional titles. Many of our swimmers have brought home Championship and Classic medals, including a few record-setting performances.
But most of all, we are proud of our children and our close-knit communities. We have swimmers from novice to advance. Regardless of where your child may be, you can always expect to find a welcoming environment.
We work hard to ensure that KWPR provides quality instruction, training and competition for every swimmer. We promote sportsmanship, respect, persistence and discipline. Emphasis is placed on enjoying the sport and learning the fundamentals of the four strokes, turns and sets. As the swimmer matures, we work on age related competitive skills and increasing endurance.
Signups for the season begins in mid-March with practices beginning in early May. The five-week regular season begins in late May/early June with most swim meets on Thursday evenings. SAIL is open to children ages 5-18.

More on SAIL
Today more than 4,100 swimmers on 38 member teams participate in SAIL. There are six divisions that are separated based on the size of teams. This year, KWPR will participate in the Gold Division.
Divisionals – where all teams in a given division compete – are typically held the second Saturday of July. The top 40 swimmers from each event in the six divisional make up the field for the Championships and Classics the following weekend. The top 16 swimmers from each event compete in Sunday's Classics. The next 24 swimmers swim in Saturday's Championships.
