Hello Barracuda families! We hope that everyone is being safe and staying healthy.

It’s time to kick off Swim Season 2020! (Lots of information is listed below, so please read carefully.) As of now, SAIL is planning to run the season as normal and follow the lead of USA swimming. USA swimming has cancelled all events until April 30^th. As everyone knows this is all new territory and we are all trying to make the best decisions without cancelling the season. The SAIL executive board has planned to meet every week and we will keep you informed of decisions being made as the weeks go on.

We would like to give an enthusiastic welcome to Brookside Pool this year. They are jumping back in the swim family by joining with us as an associate team. Our new team initials will be BKP. We are also excited to welcome Rosalyn Burroughs to our coaching staff. You may recognize Ros as a former Heritage Lakes coach. We are thrilled to see our family grow! In the coming days, you will see this addition reflected on our website.

We have been advised to open registration with the understanding that refunds may be given due to any change in status of the season. We will be required, however, to pay dues the first week of May. While we know that this is an unsure time, please know that we have kids too and we are looking out for the safety and health of all of our swimmers and families. With that said, please register your swimmer no later than May 1. Visit http://www.kwprbarracudas.swimtopia.com/ and bookmark us! Once you have registered your swimmer, get the app!

We have not made a decision on swimsuits yet this year. We will keep you updated as soon as we have. Please know that whatever we decide to go with, we will get a set of suits for sizing purposes.

This year's registration fee remains $110 and includes a T-shirt and swim cap (and very minimal fundraising.) If you choose NOT to pay online, payment is due
within 7 days of registration. Please make your check out to KWPR Swim Team. If you do not register your returning swimmer by the 1^st of May, there will be a $10.00 late fee per swimmer to cover expenses. ALL registration fees must be paid prior to the start the first practice.

Our first practice will be on Monday, May 11 at Knollwood Pool from 5:00 – 6:00 pm. This will be a land practice to begin conditioning. Please be sure your swimmer has
running shoes for practice. Practice from May 11 to June 3 will be 5:00 – 6:00 Monday through Friday. June 5 practice will be 9:00 – 10:00 am at Knollwood Pool. We will start Friday Fun Swim on June 5th. Practice times beginning June will change slightly to incorporate Brookside Pool into the rotation. We will update you as soon as this schedule is set.

Swim meets are scheduled for June 4, June 11, June 18, and June 30 (note this is a Tuesday due to the 4^th of July weekend). Three home swim meets are scheduled for this year. They are June 4, June 18, and June 25. Divisionals will be held on July 11 at Wellington Green/Brighton-Carisbrooke’s pool. Championships and Classics are July 18 – 19 at Westside Aquatics

Lastly, all training with be completed through Swimtopia with videos and a test. With training not occurring the Board has made the decision that all S&T, Starters and Referees must get a 100% on the test. The test questions are being reviewed and written more clearly. We will update the link in the Training section of our site as soon as this has been completed. Let's get our training done as soon as possible once that occurs. All parents must be certified in timing. We ask that you also get certified in runner or records & ribbons.

This year, we are in need of more Stroke and Turn Judges, a Chief/Head Timer, and help in Clerk of Course area. As an added incentive for those never before certified in these positions, once you complete training and are certified in these areas, we will return $20.00 of swim fees paid for one swimmer to you. (Should both parents become certified in these areas, we will return this fee for up to 2 swimmers.) Contact the SAIL reps for more information.
