Hey, y'all, this is Kassidee Cuffey. I'm the incoming volunteer coordinator. I have a few things to communicate before our first meet, which is in less than 4 days! Woohoo!

First, I just want to remind everyone that there's no way we could make these meets happen without parent volunteers, so THANK YOU for all the hard work you do! It always amazes me how well meets run because of all the parents helping.  Ideally, we would love your help one half of each meet (from each parent, if applicable), especially as we're now in a division with more swimmers. For example, this meet specifically wants different numbers than usual.

Secondly, not all of the positions require certification anymore, which means it's easier than ever to volunteer! For example, there's no certification or test to be a timer, but there is training available so you know what you're doing.

The common positions that do require certification are:

Stroke and Turn Judge

Head Clerk of Course 

Starter

Referee

Our immediate needs for this meet: 

2+ Stroke and Turn Judges. The first need is 2 more (1 each half). But also, we always need people who are able to fill in as Stroke and Turn judges, so if possible, please become certified in that so we could reach out when there's a need, even if it's not where you would normally feel comfortable. You need to shadow as a Stroke and Turn judge before you can actually be one, so it would be REALLY helpful if more folks could get certified and Shadow this meet.

2-4 Clerks of Course. (ensuring the correct order of swimmers for the meet. Making sure all swimmers are in the correct event, heat and lane.) Bent Creek is requesting 3 Clerks of course for each half of the meet. You do not have to be certified to do the asst Clerk of Course, but we do need more people available and trained. We currently only have 2 people who are certified to do it! So if you can help at this meet, it would help to do the training and be certified, and you can shadow the current COC in this upcoming meet.

2? Starters, 1 for each half. (assistant starter at this meet)

2? Chief Timer 1 for each half (asst chief time for this meet)

2 Timers. We need a few more timers for the second half, so if you're able to swap halves, please message or text me about that. 

Tent Parents. This is a good way to get to know swimmers on the team. If you're new and want to give it a try, this meet you can assist. If you have a nice loud voice, that's always a plus!
